Demaretta S Rush, MD
Dr. Rush is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology, with fellowship training in gynecologic and perinatal pathology as well as in cytopathology. Dr. Rush provides surgical pathology diagnostic interpretations in the areas of gynecologic, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular pathology, as well as cytopathology interpretations. She serves as Discipline Director of Pathology in the College of Medicine Curriculum, and teaches extensively in the preclinical years of the College of Medicine Curriculum, covering topics of gynecologic, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular pathology. She is also the director of the medical student elective in surgical pathology and the faculty advisor for the Pathology Student Interest Group and for students applying for residency in pathology.

Research Interests
Although the preponderance of Dr. Rush’s scholarly work to date focuses on diseases of the lower female genital tract, she has also contributed to projects involving diseases of the endometrium, ovary, fallopian tube, and placenta. Dr. Rush is also interested in medical education in pathology.
